THE CONCEPT
“Casa de la Comunidad” creates a vertical city fragment that bridges public life and private retreat. The design acts as a collage, stacking distinct functional layers: a vibrant public market hall at the base and a complex residential topography above.
MARKET HALL & STRUCTURE
The ground floor is defined by a rigorous 2×2 meter structural grid, creating a porous market hall characterized by large arches. This open layout creates a flexible “city foyer,” inviting the public in while supporting the residential volume above.
RESIDENTIAL TYPOLOGY
The housing levels feature an interlocking system of “L-Type” and maisonette apartments. By nesting units across split levels, the design maximizes spatial efficiency and creates diverse living configurations. The accordion facade allows residents to transform their private loggias into open terraces, dissolving the boundary between interior and exterior.
